Christian Taylor in Paris

I’m a writer, journalist, editor and social media community manager. Originally from Sydney, Australia, I now live between Brazil and the United Kingdom.

After earning a bachelor of arts degree in writing and cultural studies from University of Technology in Sydney, I worked for several arts and publishing companies, including Sydney Theatre Company and Allen and Unwin, before becoming National Editor of LGBT news and lifestyle site SameSame.com.au, then part of the edgy Sound Alliance media group, now known as Junkee. In my four years there, I built a strong portfolio of work, and cultivated a lively community of contributors and readers. I had the opportunity to interview some of my biggest idols, including singers Kylie Minogue and Tori Amos, Australian High Court Justice Michael Kirby and US comedian Margaret Cho.

After moving to London, I completed a masters degree in journalism, and worked as an Editor for London based expat newspaper Australian Times, a copywriter and social media project manager for Volkswagen UK and a sub-editor and digital content freelancer for the Guardian. I’ve also worked as a freelance writer and editor on a project with Google as a client.

My love of digital journalism and community management has led to a number of opportunities working as a social media content creator and community manager for brands such as Starwood Hotels, Akzo Nobel, Tetley Tea Folk, Jobsite UK and FutureLearn.com. I’ve worked writing and editing content on a project with Google as the client. I’ve been the social community manager for Brazilian boutique hotel brand Hidden Pousadas, a site which I now manage entirely. I have written travel and news feature articles for SameSame.com.au and GT Magazine and still write travel features for the Brazil Observer in London.

Currently I write freelance articles for Metro newspaper in the USA and am the co-founder of the copywriting and content agency We Like Words.

What can I do for you?

I write engaging, solid, SEO friendly articles about travel and lifestyle. I also write blog posts for commercial brands, such as Jobsite UK’s Worklife. I can provide well-written, provocative and unique blog content that will help your Google rankings, engage your clients and readers and boost your credibility.

I’m a versatile social community manager – I can audit your existing social platforms, brainstorm ideas, create content and campaigns, moderate and stimulate discussion, set goals and analyse your stats. In short, I can streamline the way you do social, ensure your tone is right, make sure you’re visible in the right places and making the most out of your social presence.
